Is the Nordic Region Prepared for Winter?

Following recent weeks of very wet and mild weather, reservoir levels in Norway and Sweden have climbed to high levels for this time of year, except in NO4 and SE1 in the far north.

Extreme reservoir levels are observed in price zones NO1, NO5, NO3, and SE2.

In the coming weeks, winter conditions are expected, with lower temperatures and increased demand for heating, and precipitation may shift to snow, halting inflows.

Hydropower generation will primarily rely on reservoir production at a high rate to meet power consumption needs.

High export levels are likely, given the strong resource situation and structural power balance, creating substantial potential.

Above shows a breakdown of the balances for NO1, NO2, NO3, and NO5. Below contains the balances for NO5, SE1, and SE2.
