Volt Power Analytics'
Hydropower Capture Rates
Using our state-of-the-art power market model, we simulate small-scale hydropower plants and calculate future capture prices for projects across Norwegian price zones.
- Site-specific hydro analysis
- Multiple scenarios included
- Customisable to your needs
Creating value for our clients
Our Hydropower Capture Rate analysis provides detailed estimates offering insight into the revenue streams of small-scale hydropower portfolios, both on average and across the weather spreads.
Asset owners are provided with an overview of revenue variation across the 30 weather scenarios simulated in our model, as well as the impact of low versus high fuel and emissions price scenarios on the economics of the assets in the portfolio.
The simulations are performed using a detailed EMPS price model covering the Nordic countries and continental Europe in joint operation.
This produces hourly simulations capturing variations in power prices due to consumption, wind and solar generation, and hydrological conditions within the hydropower system.
Features
Your Projects Modelled
- Site-specific, year-by-year electricity price forecasts up to 2050 for small hydropower plant projects in the Norwegian price zones.
- A variety of different price scenarios can be provided.
Calculated Precisely
- Calculations performed using inflow series corresponding to the plant’s location, by multiplying simulated regional prices and estimated generation time series on a time-step basis over the available data period.
Valuable Insights
- Provides necessary data to assess the project economics for your hydropower projects.
- By providing several different scenarios, clients can receive additional results on the risk involved in the project economics.
